The SH 356 (Irving Blvd) bridge is located over the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in Dallas, Texas. The existing bridge is 1,500 ft long and 64.5 ft wide. The bridge consists of 3 continuous steel plate girder spans over the river with 18 simple prestressed concrete beam approach spans. The scope includes removing the existing deck, replacing the deck and strengthening the other structural elements if needed using phased construction, reconstructing the roadway approaches, including paving and approach guardrail. Key elements include Coordination with the USACE, City of Dallas, City of Irving, Maintaining free-flowing two-way traffic on SH 356, etc.Design services will be completed within one year (by June 27). However, the contract also includes construction services and will remain active until construction is completed.
